About

I am a semi-abstract expressionist artist working in water-soluble materials; mainly water-colour paint, gouache, colour pencils and graphite. My artworks are small to medium scale and I am particularly interested in how line and colour come together in small to medium scale seascapes and landscapes.

Spending time with art, making it and looking at it gives me great fulfilment. I am drawn to quieter moments of the seascape and landscape where very little appears to be happening but where light, distance and perception shift gently over time. My works sit somewhere between observation and abstraction, grounded in a real place but filtered through a process of reduction and attention.
